British and French Warplanes Strike Underground IS Munitions Facility in Syria
Through a combined operation, jets from the UK and France have targeted an below-ground site in Syria reportedly occupied by Islamic State.
Particulars of the Coordinated Attack
The strike was conducted on the evening of Saturday in a hilly terrain near the archaeological site of the city of Palmyra.
Precision-guided munitions were utilized to sever the entry tunnels leading to the location.
“Early reports are that the site was engaged successfully,” announced a official communiqué.
Military Hardware Involved
Eurofighter Typhoon combat jets carried out the attack, with the assistance of a Voyager air-to-air refuelling tanker to extend their range.
Suspected Use of the Site
This below-ground structure is believed to have been used primarily for the warehousing of explosives and armaments.
The military confirmed the vicinity was devoid of civilian presence at the moment of the attack.

The UK's defence chief declared the country's resolve to act in unison with international partners” in order to “stamp out any resurgence” of Islamic State.
