Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

US entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in LA this Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, as reported by media reports.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, such as:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team named "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.

The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
