Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor stands accused of performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
