US prosecutors have accused a LA inhabitant of taking part in the 7 October attack by the militant faction on Israeli soil, according to newly unsealed legal documents.

The defendant, thirty-three, reportedly armed him and joined a militia group that engaged alongside the organization in the 2023 incursion that claimed the lives of 1,195 Israelis, sparking two years of conflict that resulted in the deaths of many additional individuals.

Twelve months after the attack, he supposedly travelled to the US on a fake visa and became a permanent resident.

The accused was indicted with providing, trying to provide or plotting to deliver assistance to a designated terror group and the deception and misuse of a visa or additional papers.

Alleged Role with Armed Faction

The defendant was allegedly an member of the National Resistance Brigades, the armed branch of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, according to the legal filing brought by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

He is charged of organizing a "unit of militants" to enter into Israel upon hearing about the raid and requested one individual to "bring the firearms", legal documents indicate.

The suspect dispatched communications asking other persons to provide a bulletproof vest for another man and rounds, prosecutors claim.

Hours after the 7 October assault began, his phone pinged a cell tower close to the kibbutz, the sight of a massacre, the documents said.

Legal Process and Response

The complaint said that Mr al-Muhtadi denied ever having been engaged in acts of terror on his American immigration form.

After coming to the United States, he resided in a few of places before settling in the Louisiana city, where he worked in a local eatery.

He was taken into custody on the past Thursday, the Justice Department announced.

In a court appearance in Louisiana on the following day, he was questioned if he understood the allegations facing him, an translator rendered his answer as "affirmative, but there are a lot of things mentioned here that are so incorrect, I'm innocent", as reported by reports.

The court filings do not accuse the defendant of particular offenses or homicides. US prosecutors have previously charged high-ranking individuals of the group with the deaths of American citizens on 7 October.
