Mohamed Salah Extends Apology to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the team in the wake of the uproar from his recent interview.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a European match subsequent to criticising the club and claiming his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
The manager has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Team Unity
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
The midfielder also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I get that there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have been impressive in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the outburst were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and starting to win games.”
