Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his public life on dog-whistle politics and now, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

The party, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
