Combatants laugh as they ride on the bed of a pick-up truck, speeding past a row of multiple corpses and moving in the direction of the descending African sun.

"Look at such accomplishment. Observe this ethnic cleansing," a combatant cheers.

The individual grins as he points the recording device on his own face and his associate militiamen, their RSF badges clearly shown: "The victims shall all die this way."

These individuals are exulting in a mass killing that relief organizations believe claimed the lives of more than thousands of people in the Sudan's metropolis of al-Fashir last month.

An Urban Center Isolated from the World

After maintaining the city under blockade for approximately an extended period, from the summer the paramilitary force proceeded to reinforce its dominance and restrict the leftover residents.

Satellite images show that forces commenced to erect a massive berm - a built-up earthen wall - encircling the edges of el-Fasher, closing roads and preventing relief supplies.

During the encirclement worsened, multiple individuals were murdered in an militia attack on a mosque on 19 September, while the UN said fifty-three further were slain in unmanned aircraft and heavy weapon bombardments on a refugee settlement in fall.

Graphic Footage Reveals Defenseless Civilians Executed

At dawn on late October the militia conquered the remaining government positions and seized the primary base in the community, the headquarters of the 6th Infantry Division, as the military retreated.

Among the most disturbing videos to surface and studied revealed the aftermath of a massacre at a educational facility on the west of the city, where numerous dead bodies were observed spread across the floor.

An elderly man clad in a traditional garment sat isolated surrounded by the bodies. He looked to look as a fighter carrying with a rifle moved along the stairs towards the victim. Raising his weapon, the fighter fired a solitary bullet at the individual, who collapsed to the surface still.

"How come is this person even living," another militiaman cried. "Execute him."

Orbital photography captured on late October seemed to substantiate that shootings were furthermore conducted on the streets of el-Fasher, as reported by a report published by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab.

An observer who communicated said they had observed "many of our family members being executed - the victims were assembled in a specific area and everyone killed."

RSF Officers Attempt to Conduct Damage Control

During the period that ensued from the killings, RSF leader conceded that his troops had committed "wrongdoings" and said the events would be looked into.

Part of the detained was subsequent to a report recording his killings. Carefully choreographed and produced recording shared on the militia's authorized Telegram channel show the commander being led into a cell at a prison on the edges of el-Fasher.

Meanwhile, the paramilitary force and affiliated digital channels began seeking to reshape the narrative.

Posts presenting its combatants distributing aid to civilians were disseminated by various accounts, while the paramilitary's public relations unit shared multiple recordings allegedly to demonstrate the proper treatment of military captives.

Despite the digital initiative being used by the RSF, their activities in el-Fasher have sparked worldwide condemnation.
