Slot Insists He Feels Secure and Has The Club's Support Following PSV Eindhoven Loss

The Liverpool head coach admitted that it was expected for concerns to be raised about his future after another convincing defeat against the Dutch champions.

The Reds suffered their 9th defeat in 12 matches, representing the team's worst streak since being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were taken apart by the Eredivisie champions on a difficult night at their home ground.

“I am feeling safe, I'm fine, I've received a lot of backing from the top,” the coach remarked.

“It would be nice to change things and secure a win obviously but when you're coaching a team and not doing well then it is normal that questions are asked.”

He added, “I am OK with my situation. This isn't the initial instance I've found myself in a challenging situation but it's crucial that we turned it around.”

Conversations with Club Management

Upon being questioned to provide details on his dialogues with the club's leadership, Slot revealed:

“We talk a lot. They are helpful to the team and for me and those talks happen but they aren't calling me every single minute each day to say they have faith in me.”

He mentioned, “Through standard exchanges I perceive the confidence. But I haven’t spoken to them since this game so far so we'll see.”

Persistent Issues and Player Response

Slot expressed regret over recurring failings from his team in their European loss, specifically poor finishing and defensive lapses.

Meanwhile, player Curtis Jones was more forthright in his assessment of the current crisis.

“I haven't got the solutions. Honestly, I do not. I’m saying that to all,” Jones said.

“It’s just not good enough. I don't have to wait to think about it. I'm beyond being angry inside. I've reached the stage now where I simply lack the phrases.”

He added, “It's tough because I’m playing for the side I follow. I support them, and I’ve seen this club all my life.”

“In recent memory, I haven’t experienced a Reds side enduring a phase of this nature with performances so bad.”

He stated, “However we continue to wear that badge on our shirts. And as long as it is taken away, we'll continue to compete.”

“We will attempt to get this team return to the top, prove again what Liverpool stands for and why people call it the best team in the world.”

“At this moment, we’re in the shit and we have to turn it around.”
