The Mighty Nein's Introductory Sequence Chose the Incorrect Critical Role Song

The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated adventure from the beloved role-playing group, unveiled a new introductory sequence. It showcases our favorite cast of misfits, misfits, and rogues kicking ass and making their mark, while also hinting at multiple agonizing personal histories for characters such as the voice actor's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, Fjord.

All in all, the intro appears amazing. But I couldn't help feeling that an element was missing in the music selection.

This sequence employs "Welcome to Wildemount", an exceptional composition composed by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. It's a track originating from the soundtrack album of that title, the second one released by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label their music brand. It's a great nostalgic option, and I suspect that fans of the sequel series will love its inclusion.

Personally, The Mighty Nein's intro doesn't quite capture the excitement and excitement that was part of the show's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by musician the artist, became an immediate hit for me when it was first revealed in that year, and it only got better when co-founder the performer added lyrics to the tune for the series' animated intro in the later year.

Including singing from one actress, another performer, a co-star, as well as Riegel himself, the song was catchy and fun. At the time, I hadn't seen the follow-up series at that point, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my device. It's a song that knows how to get you pumped before you start an episode of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the right notes for me. It's an impressive piece of music, but from what I know of this party, I feel that its mood is a little off.

Of course, the creators has already said that the series will have some surprises and differences from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its intro seems to be one of them.

This animated adventure will be available to watch on Prime Video from November 19. If you can't wait before that, or want a head start to get to know the personas of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the actual play are available on Spotify and the video site.
