From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will separate from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death started the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the party access places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
