English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been honoured for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.

This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.

The ceremony will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

The Darts Prodigy

The year started for Littler in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
