Newcastle v Chelsea Pre-Match Preview
Newcastle v Chelsea at 12.30pm is a great way to kick off the football. Eddie Howe’s side are down in 12th while Chelsea sit fourth. Only six points separate them, with the Magpies’ formidable home record set to provide a stern test for the Blues.
Newcastle may be hamstrung, though, by their sheer number of current defensive absentees. The full-back has added to a host of sidelined players on the treatment table, and Lewis Hall is questionable.

In case you missed it late drama unfolded during the Welsh derby. Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo presented Swansea with the win in the 90th minute when he dropped Ben Cabango’s header right into the path of Adam Idah. Idah had the simplest of task to tap home for the decisive goal.
An early Christmas present from the Arsenal academy graduate, incidentally, and Welsh bragging rights for Swansea.
Steve Evans steered his team to a draw in 10 league matches, although he said the 1-1 draw at Crewe was “frustrating” given the home side had 10 men for the majority. Elsewhere in League Two, Cambridge moved into the top seven with a 2-0 win against Accrington Stanley and Cheltenham picked up a 2-1 win away at Barrow.
Northampton strolled to a comfortable victory in League One.
And in the Bundesliga, the battle of the Borussias was won 2-0 by Dortmund, with a late Beier goal to defeat Gladbach following an early Brandt strike.

Good morning all and welcome to another live football coverage. It’s Saturday morning meaning pre-match excitement! And we can safely call it a packed schedule with no less than eight Premier League games, kicking off with Newcastle v Chelsea at 12.30pm, heading into the four 3pm kick-offs, Tottenham v Liverpool at 5.30pm, and then two 8pm games: the Merseyside and London clashes (UK time).
